Gray Winter Days…

GrayWinterDays2LowRes

We’ve been having a lot of these. So gray and cold that even trying to get a decent photo of artwork is quite difficult. This was the best I could do today. I’ll reshoot it another day soon!

But as I was walking yesterday, I kept thinking this:

Gray winter days are best enjoyed with COLOR in your hands.

‘Tis true, n’est-ce pas?

Socks,Blanket,Slipper

I’ve had some “delight”ful color running through my hands lately and it has made me so happy, nearly forgetting the gray skies outside my window.

My colorful, Crochet2Heal, blanket which I have renamed and will have a proper reveal very soon as I am only three colors away from being finished!

And my Hitchhiker Shawl. Which I took out on the back deck to knit on one of the very few sunny days we had recently! It was glorious to knit in the sunshine and see the gorgeous colors of AndreSueKnits hand-dyed yarn.

I hope you also have some delicious color in your hands these days!

  1. Love all the color! Are you using the two circular needles technique for your socks? Do you find its really easier than four double pointed needles? I am itching to get back to some knitting but am at my sister’s watching her dogs for a few days and didn’t pack any knitting. I have done a journal page drawing her blooming yucca though!

We’ve actually been dropping into the low 30s or upper 20s in Hemet the last week and it was even down to 36 at my sister’s (they are usually much milder in Camarillo CA)! But our days warm up and most are still sunny. We really need rain so although this feels nice for winter it’s not a good thing.

    • Hi Timaree! I am using one pair of rounds, 32″ long, for the Magic Loop yechnique and i do thjnk it ks a lot easier than the dpns. I do love dpns, but i just ciuldnt handle size one dpns as well as i could the circular needle. I hope you get to knit soon! Id love to see your drawing of the yucca plant!

  2. Could you tell me where you got the pattern for your shawl? I agree, a snowstorm is a great time for a new project…love your creativity!
